09:57:54 On today's episode of Kingdom Mothers, I want to talk to you about 5 different prayers that you can be praying over your children to bring blessing, to bring favor, to bring protection.
09:58:04 To just pray over their bodies, their future relationships.
09:58:09 These are gonna be 5 powerful prayers that will change.
09:58:14 the life of your child in ways that you probably won't even always recognize or know, but you are shifting the atmosphere when you pray these prayers.
09:58:24 So I'm excited to dive in on today's episode, so let's dive in.
09:58:40 Welcome back to another episode of Kingdom Mothers, I'm your host, Brandi Thomas, and today I'm really excited to dive in 5 different prayers that you can be praying over your children.
09:58:50 These are going to be so powerful, and they truly will shift the atmosphere. So, this is going to probably be a shorter episode, because I'm just gonna, like, get right to the point.
09:59:02 So, this is a prayer episode I probably should start us off with prayer. So, Father, I just thank you so much for the opportunity to.
09:59:10 to have this platform to share with other Kingdom Mothers who are seeking you, who are.
09:59:15 trying to raise up their children in the way that they should go. So we thank you for your wisdom to equip and empower us.
09:59:22 For what our children need, and to give us the ability to train them up in the way that they should go. So we just pray your blessing and favor over this episode, that it reaches.
09:59:32 The mothers who are seeking this type of wisdom.
09:59:36 And that these prayers truly help shift the atmosphere and raise up Kingdom warriors.
09:59:43 To create kingdom impact. We pray this in your name, Jesus. Amen.
09:59:47 Okay, so let's dive into 5 prayers that you can be praying over your children.
09:59:53 So, I'll just go over the five prayers. And then I'll break down each one. So, the 5 prayers are prayers of blessing.
10:00:01 Prayers of protection. prayers over the body?
10:00:08 Prayers for friends, positive influence. Influences and future spouses.
10:00:15 And prayers for favor with God and man, and to grow in wisdom and statue. So those are the 5 different prayer topics that you.
10:00:21 can be praying over your children that are gonna shift the atmosphere, that are going to.
10:00:27 Really, I believe… hone and equip and empower.
10:00:33 Your child, in the way that they should go.
10:00:37 I love the verse in Psalms where it talks about how our children are arrows, and one day we are going to have to release those arrows into the world.
10:00:46 And so, while we have them in our care, we get to pray for them, and that is, I think, one of the.
10:00:52 The most special privileges of being a kingdom mother is.
10:00:58 praying over our children. And praying over them daily.
10:01:02 If you listen to a lot of Christian music, you've probably heard the song… Pray Mama from Sons of Sunday.
10:01:11 And it talks about just, like, mama pray on, and that how, you know, Satan better run because mama's at the church praying.
10:01:20 So I love that song, because it's kind of like an anthem for me to just, like, be praying.
10:01:26 For my children. To be roaring over him.
10:01:31 And just to be covering him, because right now, he doesn't… he's 5. He doesn't… I'm teaching him, I'm training him how to say prayers, we say prayers together morning and night.
10:01:41 And we pray at dinner time. And so I'm trying to teach him, like, the concept of prayer, how to speak to God, how to, like, hear.
10:01:49 Jesus… But he's… he's just a baby, right? He's a baby in his faith.
10:01:55 And so, it's up to us as Kingdom Mothers to.
10:02:00 pray the cover over the vulnerable. And so, that's why I'm really excited to talk to you about these different types of prayers that are going to be powerful prayers.
10:02:11 So the first program I want to dive into is a prayer of blessing.
10:02:14 And you've probably heard the song, The Blessing is the song that came out in 2020.
10:02:20 From Evelation Music, and it's… it's so beautiful, and it's beautiful because it literally speaks.
10:02:26 God's words. It is… literally seeing Scripture.
10:02:31 So in Numbers 624, it says, the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
10:02:39 The Lord turned his face towards you and give you peace. And this is the blessing that the Lord.
10:02:45 told Moses to pray over the Israelites, and so I love that we can take this blessing.
10:02:51 And prayed over ourselves, over our families, and specifically for this context over our children. So this is a prayer.
10:02:59 Super simple. And if you want to remember easily, listen to the song over and over, and it'll just come naturally out of you.
10:03:07 But this is when I just pray over my son, because I just want him to bless. I want… the Lord to bless him. I want the Lord to keep him. I want the Lord to have His face shine upon him and just be gracious, turn His face towards you, and give him peace.
10:03:21 That is my prayer for my son. So I want to pray a prayer of blessing over my child.
10:03:27 The second type of prayer I want to pray.
10:03:30 Pray is prayers of protection. Now, this one is, as a kingdom warrior.
10:03:35 mother, uh, mother with a warrior spirit, who I believe is raising up a kingdom warrior. I… I, like, pray hardcore for protection over my son.
10:03:45 So here's some scriptures that you can base your prayers on. So, Isaiah 54, 17 says, No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.
10:03:57 This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me, says the Lord.
10:04:04 So I love praying prayers where I'm like, praying hedges of protection around my son, and I will say.
10:04:12 God, I pray I had your protection around, over, and under, like, a sphere of protection around him.
10:04:20 And, you know, the angel armies come around him.
10:04:24 And that the Lord commands his angels to come and protect him.
10:04:27 And then I also pray the armor of God over my son. So until my son can put on his own armor, it's up to me as a mother to be.
10:04:37 praying the armor of God over him. So this comes from Ephesians 6.10-18, and it says, Finally be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
10:04:45 Put on the full armor of God. So that you can take your stand against the devil scheme.
10:04:51 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities.
10:04:56 Against the powers of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil and the heavenly realms.
10:05:02 So right here, we know that we are fighting a spiritual battle.
10:05:06 That is not against flesh and blood, but it is.
10:05:08 in the spiritual realm, and so we need to be praying.
10:05:12 prayers are going to shift the spiritual atmosphere, and basically put the enemy back in their place, like… You have to flee. We rebuke you.
10:05:22 And so, when we can teach our children about the armor of God, teach them how to put on the armor of God, and pray the armor of God over them.
10:05:29 That is one way we can… that is just a powerful prayer we can be praying over our children.
10:05:33 So, the armor of God, it says, Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.
10:05:42 And after you have done everything. To stand, stand firm then with the belt of truth, buckled around your waist.
10:05:50 With the breastplate of righteousness in place, with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
10:05:56 In addition to all this, take up your shirt of faith.
10:05:58 With which you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.
10:06:04 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and pray in the Spirit on all occasions.
10:06:12 With… request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.
10:06:19 So we're already commanded in the scripture to be praying for the Lord's people, so we definitely should be praying this prayer for our children, and covering them.
10:06:28 One of the ways that you can actually teach your children… now, this is definitely a boy mom.
10:06:35 practice, uh, girls may not like this so much, but if you're a boy mom, this could be a cool thing, so… My son, he loves when we kind of play dodgeball when I throw arrows at him, we have a bow and arrow set, and so I was like, oh my gosh, like, these are, like, the flaming arrows being shot.
10:06:51 So, I was like, okay, let's put on a helmet, and so we just, like, grabbed a baseball cat, we put on an apron, which was the, you know, breastplate of righteousness, and the belt of truth as we tied the apron around his waist.
10:07:07 We had slippers, so those were, like, his… Uh, sandals… that were, you know, fitted on the feet with the gospel of peace.
10:07:17 We had a, uh… shield of faith, so this little… it was kind of like a toy you could ride on, but it had a handle, so we used it as his face, and then we had, like, a lightsaber.
10:07:30 For his sword of the Spirit. So that was actually a really fun, interactive way to teach my son about the armor of God, and then, yeah, I would shoot these, like.
10:07:42 arrows, that was this bow and arrow, that toy bone arrow that he has.
10:07:45 And he could block the arrows with his shield. So that was actually a fun way it clicked for him. Um, I don't really have much advice for girl mamas, like, maybe doing a craft, I don't… I don't know, maybe your girls are.
10:07:58 Uh, little tomboyish, and they wouldn't mind having arrows.
10:08:01 shot at them and… or Nerf guns or something like that, but… That was really fun to just, like, play… play dress-up, so maybe that, just play dress-up.
10:08:11 For girl mamas. Um… So, but be… you can just pray, like, Lord, we… we pray the helmet of salvation over my son, I pray a breastplate of righteousness over his heart.
10:08:23 That you just protect his… His just, like, his heart and his body that you protect his mind with the helmet of salvation, which is, like, his divine identity.
10:08:34 That you put on the belt of truth, that he know your truth. Father, that he is also.
10:08:41 How's the show of faith that protect him from any arrows, any weapon being formed against him?
10:08:47 And Lord, we just pray that the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, that it becomes alive in His life. So that's, like, an example of how you can pray the armor of God over your children.
10:08:59 I also love to play The Blood of Jesus over my son, so this comes from Revelations 1211, and says, they triumphed over him.
10:09:09 Satan, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of the testimony.
10:09:13 So, this is, like, standing in spiritual authority and saying, I plead the blood of Jesus over my child, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
10:09:22 that by the word of my testimony, like, the enemy has to flee.
10:09:26 My child is armored up and protected by the armor of God, and Satan has no power or authority over my son. He is a child of.
10:09:35 The living God, and He's covered by the blood, and so you have to pass over him. You know have… you have no territory, you have no right in his life.
10:09:43 So that is a very powerful prayer that you can be praying over your children that is going to shift.
10:09:49 The atmosphere and the spiritual realm. The third type of prayer that I think is also powerful, especially as your child is growing, is to pray over their body and give.
10:10:00 identity to… kingdom identity to their body.
10:10:05 and call their body to come into. alignment with God's will and design.
10:10:12 So, praying over the mind, Romans 12, 2 says, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
10:10:21 Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
10:10:27 So, praying over my son's mind, that his mind is protected, that he has.
10:10:33 the mind of God, the mind of Christ, that his mind is being renewed daily, and we're giving permission to God to come in and renew His mind.
10:10:41 Um, I… a lot of times I pray like that.
10:10:45 Uh, my son's mind and body comes into perfect alignment with God's will and design.
10:10:52 Another body part, so feet. We want to pray that our children's feet.
10:10:58 Carry the good news of the Lord. And so this comes from Matthew 28, 12 through 21.
10:11:03 They are, you know, Jesus is sending out his disciples on the Great Commission to go out and preach the good news, preach the gospel.
10:11:10 And then the hands, so Colossians 3 through 24 is a verse that you can study, and this is talking about, like.
10:11:17 Every good thing that you do, do unto the Lord.
10:11:21 do good work for the Lord, so let their hands.
10:11:24 Be used for healing, for helping, for creating, for building up, and so speaking identity into their hands, speaking life over their hands.
10:11:31 Same with our heart. Allowing their heart, praying for their heart to love God and love others.
10:11:39 So Mark 12, verse 30 through 31. This is the scripture talking about the greatest commandment, where it says.
10:11:48 You should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. So we want our children to have a heart for the Lord, and have a heart for their neighbor.
10:11:59 And then the tongue. This is a powerful one, like, the tongue is gonna get… I mean, you know, mom, right? Like, the tongue gets us into trouble all the time.
10:12:08 So praying, starting early, praying over our, our. children's tongues, that they speak truth in love.
10:12:17 And Proverbs 18, 21. It tells us that the power of life and death is in the tongue. So if we can start training our children early on to speak life, to speak truth.
10:12:30 That is going to shape. Their world.
10:12:35 I mean, how many times do we, like… condemn ourselves? How many times do we… Speak death over ourselves because of our, like, past trauma, the way we were raised, our upbringing.
10:12:49 And I believe a lot of us on here, like, we are trying to be, like.
10:12:52 I don't want to pass on the same traits and characters that maybe I was raised in.
10:12:57 And so, teaching our children at a young age to speak declarations, to speak life, to speak truth, to.
10:13:03 to, like, repeat the scripture. So one of the things that I do in Carline with my son right now is we have declarations. So we say, like, I am strong, I'm courageous, I'm brave.
10:13:13 I can do hard things. I am the head and not the tail.
10:13:16 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I do not need to be afraid, for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.
10:13:23 I have the power of, of… I have a spirit of power, and love, and sound mind. So I'm teaching my son to speak these out loud over himself.
10:13:35 Another prayer we can pray is over our children's minds.
10:13:39 And again, I guess, already talked about this, but… Another scripture to just cover this is Philippians 4.8, Romans 122.
10:13:48 And these are really powerful, because it's talking about to think on things that are knowable, true, honest.
10:13:54 To really praying that, but then also teaching our children to be like, okay, look for things that are true, look for things that are noble. Let's not go down this victim rabbit hole. Let's not get stuck in this.
10:14:05 muddy pit, like, what's… start when things get hard, let's not look at the circumstances, but let's look at what is true, what is noble, what is honest, what is pure.
10:14:14 And so these are, again, powerful prayers that we can be praying.
10:14:19 The fourth type of prayer that we can be praying.
10:14:22 I mean, this one's gonna have a major impact, because we know.
10:14:27 Our sphere of influence impacts us. Dramatically. So, praying now over your children's friends.
10:14:35 Over the positive influences and mentors that are going to come alongside them over their future spouses, like, start praying for their.
10:14:45 their future spouse's parents pray for that… that spouse, that they're… they're also, like.
10:14:50 They have the mind of Christ that they're growing in wisdom and stature, that… They're also being connected with positive friends and influences.
10:15:01 And some scripture to back up this prayer. And again, like, use scripture as you're praying, like, just pray these.
10:15:09 scriptures. But Proverbs 17, 17 says, a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
10:15:18 Proverbs 2717 says, iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. These are the type of people I want.
10:15:24 To be in my son's life. John 15, 12, 13, again, we kind of mentioned this above, but this is my commandment, love each other in the same way I have loved you.
10:15:35 There's no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.
10:15:39 That's the type of friend I want for my son.
10:15:43 In Ephesians 4.25, it says, Therefore, having put away falsehood, let us.
10:15:49 Each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members.
10:15:53 One of another. I want people in my son's life to… speak truth to him, to… to come to him with feedback that's… and… conviction to be like, hey.
10:16:08 I see you doing this, this is not who you are.
10:16:11 This is not who God created you to be. We need to course correct. I want… people in his life that are gonna speak.
10:16:20 And look out to him, and not just let him go down a path.
10:16:24 And then my favorite verse for women, Proverbs 31, 10-31, like, the Proverbs 31 woman, she is an amazing.
10:16:32 Just mentor role model for women. And I would love for my son to marry a probably woman to.
10:16:41 is strong, who knows how to honor her husband, who.
10:16:45 shows up for her family who is wise, who doesn't have fear of the future.
10:16:52 And… yeah, she can be an entrepreneur, she can be a multi-passionate person, but, like, whatever her career is, like.
10:16:59 These are character traits that I want my son's wife to have.
10:17:04 So, prayer number 4, be praying over the influences, the friends, the spouses of our children.
10:17:12 And then the fifth prayer that you can be praying are prayers for favor with God and man, and to grow in wisdom and stature. I've been praying this prayer since my son was a baby, and I have seen.
10:17:24 his favor with… with God and man. I've seen, like, he can walk into situations.
10:17:29 And people instantly just love him. And I just think that's so cool, like, he has favor.
10:17:38 Um, and even when we are facing some adversity right now.
10:17:42 in his development, like, he is getting favor and he's getting resources coming to him, and I can see him continuing to grow in wisdom and stature, so… This is a powerful prayer that I'm… I'm, like, seeing it.
10:17:56 come to fruition. So this is one I'm definitely going to be praying, but… But this comes from Luke 2.52. So you will find favor and good success.
10:18:07 In the sight of God and man. And… oh, sorry, this is… that's a prayer that you can pray.
10:18:14 alongside Luke 252, and it says, And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. If we were raising our children to be like Jesus, to follow Jesus, to… Imitate Jesus.
10:18:27 Wouldn't we want to be praying that they grow?
10:18:31 Like Jesus did, grow in wisdom, grow in stature, grow in favor with God and man.
10:18:37 And again, in Psalms 90, 17, it says, May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us, establish the work of your hands.
10:18:44 For us, yes, establish the work of our hands.
10:18:48 So, I want favor, I want blessing, I want… My son to grow into wisdom.
10:18:54 And so that's another type of prayer that I pray over my son. So, if you're, like, kind of new to prayer, or you haven't really been raised in.
10:19:03 spiritual warfare prayer, or just… the concept of praying.
10:19:10 boldly for your children. Here's a little format that you can use to help you if you're… Kind of stepping into this realm of prayer, and it's… it's what I'm presenting looks maybe different than what… how you were raised.
10:19:25 So, I always love to start prayer with gratitude and worship, like… And I love the format, like.
10:19:32 the Lord's Prayer. Like, the disciples asked Jesus, how do we pray? And he.
10:19:36 Pray the Lord's Prayer. And so he's always, he started with.
10:19:40 Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. So praying like gratitude, praying in all, having that fear of God of just, like.
10:19:49 God, you are an amazing father, like, I just… have this all in reverence for you.
10:19:55 And I just worship you, and I just thank you for these gifts. I thank you for my child.
10:20:01 And I just want to come to a place of gratitude.
10:20:06 in the Lord's Prayer also talks about forgiveness and repenting, so I think including, like, repenting for yourself and asking forgiveness, and then we can also prayers of repentance and forgiveness on behalf of our.
10:20:19 Children as well, so I want you to know that you do have authority to do that, that you can go into the courts of heaven.
10:20:27 And you can, on behalf of your child, prayer.
10:20:31 prayers of repentance, and ask for forgiveness. And I think that's so special that we have the ability to do that.
10:20:38 We get to intercede on behalf of our children until they're able to do that for themselves.
10:20:45 And then we make our request known to God. Again, like.
10:20:49 kind of following the format of the Lord's Prayer.
10:20:52 He prays for our daily bread, so… This is when you can use Scripture to guide your prayers. You can make your requests, like, pray for their body, pray for.
10:21:04 their protection pray for their, you know, the blessing of your children, and you don't have to do all these prayers at the same time, but, like, just know that these are prayers that you can, and I believe should be praying, that are going to be shifting the atmosphere.
10:21:19 So praying favor, praying over the influences and the spouses and the friends, praying over their body, making those requests, praying for the protection, praying for the blessing.
10:21:31 And using scripture, like, I love speaking scripture, because it'd be like, God, you said this. This is… Your word.
10:21:40 This is the testimony. You said it, so let it be done.
10:21:43 I'm claiming your promise, I'm claiming your promise of protection, I'm claiming the promise of your blood over my family, over my children.
10:21:53 For my person, home, or property, I'm claiming the blessing and favor as the inheritance.
10:21:57 that we receive as a child and co-heir to Jesus Christ, the child of God in courier to Jesus Christ, like.
10:22:04 Use scripture. It is powerful when we speak the Word of God.
10:22:09 And then just end with blessing, end with, like, thank you, Lord.
10:22:13 For this blessing. And just like, you know, I pray this in your name, Jesus. Amen.
10:22:21 These are powerful prayers that are going to be shifting the atmosphere in the spiritual realm.
10:22:28 And taking territory. For your children in the spiritual realm.
10:22:33 It'll… and setting your children up to create kingdom impact.
